This year, the lunar New Year falls on February 10th, and ushers in the year of the water snake. We send off the year of the dragon and welcome that of the snake. Following the 12 year cycle of the Chinese zodiac , 2013 is represented by the snake—a symbol of mystery and charm, that is said to be the qualities of those born in the year of the snake.
Although in reality a creature that is often feared or reviled, the snake in Chinese mythology and zodiac is thought of as charming, charismatic and elegant.
Personality of the Snake Zodiac
Sixth out of the twelve zodiac cycle, the snake follows after the majestic dragon and is the Chinese zodiac of those born in the years of: 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001 and in 2013.
Those born under the zodiac of the snake are said to be enigmatic and wise, and are thinkers who enjoy living a good and luxurious life. They enjoy good books, music, clothes and fine clothes, and like interesting conversations, but their interest soon wanders when conversation becomes repetitive or mundane.
