Made in Japan, this large clay cooking and serving pot is designed to hold between four and five servings of soups, stews and more-perfect for a family meal or cozy dinner party!

Safe for use in the dishwasher and stove top, this durable earthen donabe clay pot consists of a wide bowl and handled lid featuring easy-to-grip raised white ribbing. This pot is also as lovely as it is versatile; its natural cream background is accented by bouquets of lively blue and pink flowers painted on its lid.

Except for a small smooth segment along the top of the bowl, this multi-use pot has a sanded texture; this porous surface allows the earthen donabe clay pot to be placed directly over a heated range or portable stove.

This family-style pot is similar in function and style to our series of smaller and individual-serving donabe pots. Each pot comes shipped securely in a brown paper box.

So beautiful

I ordered the donabe clay pot to make yosenabe, oden, shabu shabu, and sukiyaki. My mom had one when we were growing up but it broke when she moved years ago. I love making Japanese food in authentic cookware and this pot is it! I received it yesterday and immediately seasoned it according to Just One Cookbook on YouTube. It is so beautiful and well made. I’m waiting for a one burner tabletop stove to arrive so I can start using it.

I just received my donabe yesterday! It is so much more beautiful and vibrant than the picture shows. A nice large vessel, it will be plenty big enough for serving several friends and family. I can't wait to use it!
